Waiting On Wednesday(9)

This Wednesday I am waiting on the sequels for the books that were published last year. There is something about book series that excite me. Being able to spend a long time with the characters and setting is always a good thing! And even the torturous wait has an up-side. Buying a book on or near its release date so satisfying 🙂

I Am Waiting On…

Game (Jasper Dent, #2)Game by Barry Lyga

Expected Publication Date: April 16th 2013

Publisher:  Little, Brown Young Readers

Synopsis: I Hunt Killers introduced the world to Jasper (Jazz) Dent, the son of the world’s most infamous serial killer.

When a desperate New York City detective comes knocking on Jazz’s door asking for help with a new case, Jazz can’t say no. The Hat-Dog Killer has the Big Apple–and its police force running scared with no leads. So Jazz and his girlfriend Connie hop on a plane to the big city and get swept up in a killer’s murderous game.

Meanwhile, Jazz’s dad Billy is watching…and waiting.

Why I Need This Book: I read the first book, I Hunt Killers and I cannot wait for the sequel! I Hunt Killers is everything I want in a mystery novel and Jasper is such a chilling character! But it seems like Howie won’t be in Game much…Boo!

Dance of the Red Death (Masque of the Red Death, #2)Dance Of The Red Death by Bethany Griffin

Expected Publication Date: June 11th 2013

Publisher: Greenwillow Books

Synopsis: Bethany Griffin continues the journey of Araby Worth in Dance of the Red Death—the sequel to her teen novel Masque of the Red Death.

In Dance of the Red Death, Araby’s world is in shambles—betrayal, death, disease, and evil forces surround her. She has no one to trust. But she finds herself and discovers that she will fight for the people she loves, and for her city.

Her revenge will take place at the menacing masked ball, though it could destroy her and everyone she loves…or it could turn her into a hero.

With a nod to Edgar Allan Poe, Bethany Griffin concludes her tragic and mysterious Red Death series with a heroine that young adult readers will never forget.

Why I Need This Book: I throughly enjoyed Masque Of The Red Death and since the ending was a cliffhanger I am dying to know what happens next!

The Outside (The Hallowed Ones, #2)The Outside by Laura Bickle

Expected Publication Date: September 3rd 2013

Publisher: Harcourt Children’s Books

Synopsis: After a plague of vampires is unleashed in the world, Katie is kicked out of her Amish community for her refusal to adhere to the new rules of survival. Now in exile, she enters an outside world of unspeakable violence with only her two “English” friends and a horse by her side. Together they seek answers and other survivors—but each sunset brings the threat of vampire attack, and each sunrise the threat of starvation.

And yet through this darkness come the shining ones: luminescent men and women with the power to deflect vampires and survive the night. But can these new people be trusted, and are they even people at all?

In this edge-of-your-seat thriller, it’s up to one Amish girl to save her family, her community, and the boy she loves . . . but what will she be asked to leave behind in return?

Why I Need This Book: The Hallowed Ones was nothing short of excellent! Bickle’s vampires are very, very creepy!

  1. Three really great choices! I still need to read I Hunt Killers and The Hallowed Ones, but I am definitely waiting on Dance of the Red Death! That was my pick a while back and I cannot wait until it’s released.
