Waiting On Wednesday(8)

Waiting On Wednesday is hosted at Breaking The Spine. Please join in one the fun!

It has been about a month since my last Waiting on Wednesday but with all the exciting 2013 releases coming out I couldn’t resist joining in on the fun again!  This years seems like it will be a really good year for the Young Adult genre 🙂 I will try to list books that people might not know about but there will be some books that are being waited on by many.

I Am Waiting For…

If You Find MeIf You Find Me by Emily Murdoch

Expected Publication Date: March 26th 2013

Publisher: St. Martin’s Griffin

Synopsis: There are some things you can’t leave behind…

A broken-down camper hidden deep in a national forest is the only home fifteen year-old Carey can remember. The trees keep guard over her threadbare existence, with the one bright spot being Carey’s younger sister, Jenessa, who depends on Carey for her very survival. All they have is each other, as their mentally ill mother comes and goes with greater frequency. Until that one fateful day their mother disappears for good, and two strangers arrive. Suddenly, the girls are taken from the woods and thrust into a bright and perplexing new world of high school, clothes and boys.

Now, Carey must face the truth of why her mother abducted her ten years ago, while haunted by a past that won’t let her go… a dark past that hides many a secret, including the reason Jenessa hasn’t spoken a word in over a year. Carey knows she must keep her sister close, and her secrets even closer, or risk watching her new life come crashing down.

Why I Need This Book: If You Find Me seems like such an interesting book. The premise just promises a deep, emotional read that will stir your heart! And there have also been some very, very convincing review ;P

Nantucket BlueNantucket Blue by Leila Howland

Expected Publication Date: May 7th 2013

Publisher: Disney Hyperion

Synopsis: For Cricket Thompson, a summer like this one will change everything. A summer spent on Nantucket with her best friend, Jules Clayton, and the indomitable Clayton family. A summer when she’ll make the almost unattainable Jay Logan hers. A summer to surpass all dreams.

Some of this turns out to be true. Some of it doesn’t.

When Jules and her family suffer a devastating tragedy that forces the girls apart, Jules becomes a stranger whom Cricket wonders whether she ever really knew. And instead of lying on the beach working on her caramel-colored tan, Cricket is making beds and cleaning bathrooms to support herself in paradise for the summer.

But it’s the things Cricket hadn’t counted on–most of all, falling hard for someone who should be completely off-limits–that turn her dreams into an exhilarating, bittersweet reality.

A beautiful future is within her grasp, and Cricket must find the grace to embrace it. If she does, her life could be the perfect shade of Nantucket blue.

Why I Need This Book: I like books that are about friendships and Nantucket Blue seems like one of those books! The romance in this books also seems promising.

One Plus One Equals BlueOne Plus One Equals Blue by N.J. Auch

Expected Publication Date: April 30th 2013

Publisher:  Henry Holt and Co. (BYR)

Synopsis: Twelve year-old Basil knows he’s special—he’s been associating numbers with colors since he was a kid. His gift (or curse) has turned him into somewhat of a loner, but his world begins to change when he meets Tenzie, the new girl in school who has similar freakisms. She, too, has synesthesia (a condition in which one type of stimulation evokes the sensation of another). At first, Basil is somewhat annoyed with Tenzie’s pushiness, but after Basil’s estranged mother returns, his life is turned upside down . . . and Tenzie may be the only person to help him put it back together again.

Once again, MJ Auch has written a thoughtful coming-of-age novel that explores friendship, family, and fitting in.

Why I Need This Book: Is it bad to say that I wanted this book because of the cover at first? Awhile this book does have a super interesting premise I can’t get this artsy cover out of my mind! And this is a Middle Grade book if you would like to know 🙂
