Filling The Bookcase is pretty much Stacking The Shelves or Mailbox Monday but with a different name. Please visit both of the host and join in on the fun!

More books! One day my house will be nothing but stacks and stacks of books. And I will not even regret it.

Additions to the bookcase

The Friday Society

The Friday Society by Adrienne Kress

The first line in this book: And then there was an explosion.

Splintered

Splintered by A.G. Howard

This book is supposed to be a twisted retelling of Alice in Wonderland so I am very excited to read this. I have heard some mixed reviews for this book but I think I will enjoy it.

This is Not a Test

This Is Not A Test by Courtney Summers

I have read many reviews that state that this book is a zombie book that is not just a zombie book. I am excited to find out what that means…

Unwind (Unwind, #1)

Unwind by Neal Shusterman

This was a used bookstore buy. (Only $2.50!) The synopsis makes the book seem very creepy. I am interested in reading about the dystopian world Shusterman creates!

Kira-Kira

Kira-kira by Cynthia Kadohata

I have known about this book for years. I came across the title awhile searching the internet and forgot about it the next day. When I saw it on the shelf at the used bookstore I knew it was destiny!

Bad Girls Don't Die (Bad Girls Don't Die, #1)

Bad Girls Don’t Die by Katie Alender

I bought this because of the title and cover. But it does seem interesting 🙂

Little House in the Big Woods (Little House, #1)Little House on the Prairie (Little House, #2)By the Shores of Silver Lake (Little House, #5)The Long Winter (Little House, #6)

Little House In The Big Woods, Little House On The Prairie, By The Shores Of Silver Lake, The Long Winter by Slaura Ingalls Wilder

I read Little House On The Praire when I was young but I never knew it was a series until recently. I realize the I still don’t own all the books but I will try finding them 🙂

Additions to the eBookcase

That Time of the Month

That Time Of The Month by Emily Shaffer

The author describes it as a romp through chick-lit so I immediately bought it 🙂

One Hit Wonder

One Hit Wonder by Denyse Cohen

It was on the Kindle Daily Deals list and I was interested in the music element of the story so I decided to give it a try.

Origins: The Fire (MILA 2.0, #0.5)

MILA 2.0 Origins: The Fire by Debra Driza

I read this novella already and I enjoyed it. I am eagerly waiting for the full book, MILA 2.0

The Crimson Hunt (Eldaen Light Chronicles, #1)

The Crimson Hunt by Victoria H. Smith

I received this to review for a book tour! The synopsis makes the book interesting 🙂

Stitch (Stitch Trilogy, #1)

Beauty Queens

Beauty Queens by Libba Bray

After reading The Diviners I just knew that I would have to read Bray’s other books!

The Miseducation of Cameron Post

The Miseducation Of Cameron Post by Emily M. Danforth

After reading a positive review for this book I immediately put this on my hold list at the library. The book just became available to me so I am very excited!

Dragon Slippers (Dragon Slippers, #1)

Again, I got this book because a reviewer that I respect wrote a positive review for this 🙂 It seems very fun.

The Great Gatsby

I am curious to see how amazing the “most amazing work of literature” really is.

Netgalley

The S-Word by Chelsea Pitcher

The book protagonist, Angie seems very admirable from what the synopsis tells us.

The Golden Twine (Cat's Cradle, #1)

The Golden Twine (Book 1 in the Cat’s Cradle series) by Jo Rioux

This graphic novel sounds very interesting. I have glanced through the pages and I have to say, the art is beautiful 🙂

Did you get any new additions to your collection?

  1. Every time you publish a post with several books in it I feel like I just tell you which ones I loved (and consequently, which ones I hope you will love as well). So that’s what I’m going to do now, because this post has so many wonderful books in it! Unwind, Beauty Queens, Kira-Kira, Dragon Slippers, The Great Gatsby, This is Not a Test… all superb! Looking forward to your thoughts on them!

    • Thank you 🙂 I have read a few passages from all these books(it is a bad habit) and I love the books already. This Is Not A Test really stands out! Beauty Queens is hilarious.

  2. Lottie, we enjoy the same kind of books! I read the Little House series when I was a little girl and loved it. I bought a few of the books for my niece for Christmas. I recently bought This is Not a Test, and have heart that it is an excellent read. I also can’t wait to read Unwind 🙂 Maybe we can do a buddy read sometime!

  3. I loved ALL the Little House books growing up. When I was younger I probably liked the younger ones best. But when I reread them in middle and high school, I love the ones where Laura was older and courting far better. I’m sure you won’t believe what you were missing previously!

  4. I love The Friday Society! It was one of my favorite books from last year. The characters are all so original.

I haven’t read Dragon Slippers, but everything else I’ve read by Jessica Day George is amazing and cute!

I am not a fan, however, of The Great Gatsby but now is probably a great time to read it since the movie is coming out soo!

    • I never knew that a movie was coming out! This just proves that I am terrible at keeping up with things ^^” I am pretty interested in The Friday Society. Heard that there was a lot of girl power!

  5. I’ve been seeing Splintered EVERYWHERE! Looking forward to your review to see how it goes 🙂

Been meaning to read The Great Gatsby for ages but I keep pushing it down my tbr pile 😛

I hope you enjoy Kira-Kira, I’ve read Cynthia Kadohata’s other book, Weedflower, years ago and it was a decent read 🙂

  6. You’ve got some great titles. I’m tempted to read Splintered. The Little House on the Prairie series were my favorite as a kid. I read The Great Gatsby a few months back and thought it was okay. Enjoy your stash of books and thanks for visiting my blog!

  7. That’s a lot of books!! Oh my gosh you are so lucky 😛 I want to read The Friday Society sooo bad 🙂 it looks so good! I also want to read Beauty Queens and This is Not A Test! And Kira Kira was really good!
